Voicemail Security Concerns

I’m wondering if anyone else is having a similar issue with voicemail. We have an issue with bad actors trying to hack into the voicemail on multiple DIDs. There seems to be no way of securing it beyond the 4-digit PIN and changing it. One tech agent said that there used to be a way to disable external VM access, but that it is gone now.

It was suggested to send voicemail to e-mail and then to delete the VM to prevent access. That would work, but defeats the convenience (and purpose) of accessing VM with the phone. At present, I am reviewing the call logs and blocking the numbers making these calls.

I’m hoping voip.ms will see this and bring better security to this feature. Being able to disable external vociemail access would address this matter.

Alternatively, you can send the messages as an attachment to an email address and not keeping a copy inside the actual voicemail at VoIP.ms. Email mailboxes are easier to secure.
Hope this can help.
