I am having trouble with the voicemail in that it is being directed to a generic voice message. I have setup the new message and tested that it is playable. I have created the VM account and attached it to the number. I have ring time set to 1 ring – which works but it plays the generic message.
Any ideas?

Have you called in to voicemail and recorded a personalized message?
If so, check the voicemail settings and see if the “Unavailable Message Recording” is set to “Set by phone”.
If you would rather use an uploaded recording you can upload it to Recordings in the main control panel then select it under the same option in voicemail settings.
Good grief. I had to open up the advanced settings. I like Voip.ms but the interface is pretty clunky. Thats what you get when the price is low.

Now I just need to get the SMS working on the softphone app and all will be good.
FWIW, I created a sub-account for the phone app since it is technically another phone on the account. Hope this helps. -Steven
