Groundwire ringback missing 480hz tone

Hi guys, I’m back to investigate ringback issues with Groundwire (Android), this time: the problem is the ringback tone generated is 440Hz: 2 seconds on, 4 seconds off and it is completely missing the 480Hz tone. It makes it hard to hear and distinguish from other line signals and it’s driving me crazy.

I spoke with a CS agent at VoIP.ms, we did a quick test and determined the the culprit is indeed the Groundwire app. I also did my own test with my HT802V2 and there was no issue with its ringback.

Anybody have any idea? I tried changing codec to G711.U but behaviour was the same. This seems to be a really difficult issue to search for online as well.

I have also opened a ticket with Acrobits to look into this, and I will be posting the findings here later when I hear back.

Thanks guys, appreciate any insight!!

:white_check_mark: SOLVED!

It was in the last place I would think to look in the Groundwire settings: Accounts > (pick an account) > Hacks.

Scroll down to ‘Tones’, and you can edit the settings there.

In the screenshot, you can see I disabled the ‘Trying Tone’ (I hate it), changed the Ringback tone to ‘Canada’ and the Busy Tone to ‘US’. Now everything is as it should be!! I hope this helps someone someday… lol

Thank you!! I noticed the same behavior but didn’t think there was a way to change it.
