I know VoIP.ms has a setting to record phone calls. I didn’t turn that on.
But while on a call with my sister to test voice quality using Groundwire I accidentally pressed the record button and recorded a few seconds of our call. It now resides in Groundwire like visual voicemail.
Is that just a Groundwire feature? It’s interesting. If you record does it give a signal to the other person that you are recording?
Thanks.
Hello @douglerner,
Yes, this is a Groundwire feature.
Ground wire call recording
With Groundwire, if the option is activated, you can record all calls, or toggle call recording while on a call (the record button is in the main screen when you are on a call).
And as you said, you then can go in the call history and select the call and see the recording. (You can filter call history to see only the calls that have a recording.)
Voip.ms call recording
— For outgoing calls
Voip.ms also has a call record feature for outgoing calls only and can be set in the sub account.
— For incoming calls
You can activate incoming call recording in Manage DID.
When I want to make a call I want to record, I always use Groundwire because it is so easy to use, and at no additional fees.
(If you are a business, you will most probably prefer consistent global recordings of all incoming and outgoing calls. This is worth it in that case.)
Kind regards,
Alexandre
Thanks, @aleclerc,
That’s useful to know. It would be cool if there was a Groundwire-specific voicemail feature too. Then it would be like visual voicemail!
Yeah, not that I know of. And the “Automatic Answer” option in the account settings is not compatible with Push Notifications, which I use.
Kind regards!
