I have voicemail enabled for my two DIDs. I can’t seem to find where in the dashboard I can turn on transcripts of voicemails, or how much they cost. Can somebody point me in the right direction?
By the way, in Groundwire at least, the voicemails aren’t retained there. Instead, VoIP.ms emails them to me. And Groundwire support says that’s the same with transcripts of voicemails. That’s different from my other VoIP apps — Talkatone and TextNow. In those apps it’s integrated into the app in addition to optional emails. Are all the VoIP.ms apps the same as Groundwire in this regard?
I ran into the same thing with Groundwire. The email delivery makes sense, but I also find it a little odd that the voicemail itself isn’t really integrated into the app like it is with Talkatone or TextNow. I’d be curious about the same thing regarding the VoIP.ms softphone — whether it has any kind of visual voicemail/transcript view or if everything still goes through email.
Hello @douglerner, for the minimum charge, can you see how much you have been charged for you test in Finances → Generate Invoice? If yes, this might give you a hint.
I didn’t find it in Generate Invoice, but I did find it in Call Detail Records.
The total call length was 33 seconds, including my message to the caller. The length of time the person spoke and for which a transcription was created was 18 seconds. The rate is 0.05 per minute and the cost was 0.0150 — 1.5 cents.
That makes sense if the transcription is only being charged for the portion of the call that was actually transcribed. The 33-second CDR duration and 18 seconds of transcription time are really two different measurements, so I wouldn’t expect the invoice calculation to necessarily match the full call length. Having those two figures shown separately is actually pretty useful when checking the charges. I’d also want that same level of detail in a call platform like Phonexa, especially when comparing call duration, transcription time and actual costs.
