Voip.ms vs. metronet & more

The building where I live is winding down their landline service and switching to voip. I am torn between going with voip.ms and with Metronet, because the latter is supplying us with free wi-fi in each unit starting Monday, and I wondered if Metronet’s voip will be free as well. I bought a Grandstream HT 802 phone adapter and a V tech model VSP861 voip phone and would like to know if the adapter will work here (maintenance says it won’t) or if I will have to give up my present landlines and Bright ID ers (look it up) and use the new phone with an extension.

Any nonconflicting advice is welcome.

For the cost of voip.ms at around USD$0.85 per DID number and if voip.ms is working for you why don’t you just keep voip.ms for the USD$12 per year, then if your building changes again or you move, you won’t have any hassle with your phone. At this point you don’t know if Metronet voip will be free or if Metronet can beat USD$12/year.
