Voip.ms softphone

I recently installed voip.ms softphone app on my android cellphone. The problem I’m having is, occasionally, when I get an incoming call, sometimes my home phone rings, other times my cellphone rings. I would like to be able to control which phone the call is routed to.

Are both devices connected to the same account? If so, that would be the expected behaviour

Typical setup is:

  • Each device has its own sub-account.
  • DID is routed to a Ring Group which includes both devices.
  • Note that DID routing and account registrations must be on the same server (POP - Point of Presence).

This would cause both to ring at the same time: whichever answered first would get the call.

Yes, instability when you register multiple devices to the same account per mynamewastooshort’s post.

Once you register each device to it’s own sub account (make sure they all use the same server) then you can go into DID Numbers tab, select Ring Groups, give it a name, add members (sub accounts) and adjust settings if needed.
Then go to DID Numbers tab, select Manage DID’s, choose your DID and click edit, Check “Ring Group” then select the name of your Ring Group.

Thanks to both of you for your help. I was able get is setup. I only added my cell phone in my sub-account. My home phone is on my main account.
