I am considering T-Mobile Home Internet for a rural camp property where wireline services are unavailable and satellite options are prohibitively expensive. T-Mobile is the only viable provider in the area, so I am exploring its compatibility with VoIP.ms.
Has anyone successfully used VoIP.ms with T-Mobile Home Internet? Does it work out of the box, or are specific configuration changes required?
In my research, I have seen reports from users of other VoIP services—such as PhonePower, CallCentric, and Vonage—who encountered issues due to T-Mobile allegedly blocking ports 5060 and 5061. Some had to switch to alternate ports, disable SIP ALG, or change transport protocols from UDP to TLS.
I am particularly interested in whether VoIP.ms functions reliably without modification, or if similar adjustments are necessary. If port changes are required, can they be made on the user side, or would I need VoIP.ms to implement changes on their end?
Any firsthand experience or technical guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
