I like VOIP.MS, but I’m tired of waiting for them to roll out a proper MMS app. (SMS alone is not good enough.) I currently use Textable ($5 per month), but it’s buggy and poorly designed. (The VOIP.MS SMS/MMS dashboard is also quite painful.)
So I’m think of moving my main DID to T-Mobile, which would enable me to use the standard Android Google Messages app for texting, which would be tremendous. I’d forward all inbound T-Mobile calls to a VOIP.MS DID that rings both (A) Groundwire on my Android and (B) my SIP desk phone, so I could continue to use VOIP.MS voicemail and transcriptions. And I’d make all outbound calls from VOIP.MS subaccounts that use my main DID (now at T-Mobile) as the caller ID.
However, if you know of an established VOIP company that has a good MMS app for Android, I might consider moving my main DID to that company instead.
Can you suggest any such VOIP companies?
And can you identify any drawbacks to my plan?
