Expanded Coverage for Canada (What happened?)

This was a really exciting time last year, when there were so many more rate centres to purchase DIDs from in Canada. What happened? In my particular rate centre, there are 0 DIDs in the catalogue, but I suppose you could back order them and get a random one assigned (but what’s the fun in that?).

Just hoping someone that works at VoIP.ms can answer what happened and whether the expanded rate centres will come back. I chatted with support and they were unable to give a concrete explanation. Just that ‘rate centres are subject to change’.

Just to note that you can port (most?) numbers in even if they aren’t in the list of rate centers.

I’m not sure why you would need a specific rate center rather than a number in a specific local calling area.
