I need help: I cannot find any “ID card icon” next to my DID numbers, and I cannot seem to find any menu item related to “CNAM” anywhere else. Thanks in advance for useful hints!
“Simplified CNAM Viewing and Updating now available
30 November 2023
We are pleased to announce that now you can easily view and update the Caller ID Name (CNAM) for your numbers. This feature is accessible in the “Manage DID(s)” section under the “DID Numbers” menu in your customer portal. Simply click the ID card icon next to your number for a quick consultation and request modifications. This enhancement is designed to provide you with greater visibility over your VoIP.ms services.”
I noticed this on the Wiki last time I was looking at it, thought it might be helpful:
CNAM is only available for some USA numbers. In order to update your Caller ID on the CNAM database for your US calls, there is a process to follow which has a cost of $10 USD (one time only fee). Please contact the VoIP.ms support staff to get further details on what information you need to submit and to confirm if your local US DID is available for a CNAM update.
CNAM update is only available for some Local US DIDs. Toll frees cannot have their Caller ID name updated.
Hi again. That is useful information (I wonder why I did not find it when I did a search). And it applies to Canadian numbers, as well, since my Canadian numbers show in some cases a location, while with numbers previously used by other people I get a personal name, a company name, the note “confidential” or the note “unavailable”. Only one number I use comes without a CNAM entry.
Looks like I’ll need to spend some money to get some of those issues fixed.
