Caller ID CNAM lookups for SMS

I’m currently using SMS via the “SMS/MMS Forward to an Email Address” option. I’d like the option to opt-in to Caller ID CNAM lookups.

e.g. instead of email subjects like “Message received from number 9999999999 to number 888888888 [#tracking]” it would read “Message received from ACME INC 9999999999 to number 888888888 [#tracking]”

This is a great idea.

(Warning: This is a partial and indirect answer to your question: it’s a workaround that uses contacts lists, not CNAM.)

I send and receive my VOIP.MS text messages through Textable, which can be used via the Textable smartphone app or their web app: https://textable.app … I’ve uploaded my contacts into the web app, and if an incoming text matches one of the contacts, the contact’s name appears on the text. Drawbacks: (A) Textable is $5 per month, (B) a name displays only if the phone number is already in your contacts, and (C) this feature doesn’t apply the name to texts viewed in email or in VOIP.MS’s portal at https://voip.ms/m/communications.php (However, the portal will extract a name from your VOIP.MS phone book if there’s a match).
